Ok, so i picked up some liberty leather seats today and ws told quite clearly how to do it.
When i got home it became clear as mud, tried searching, no answers.
So, what do I need to do to put my liberty seats into my Brumby?

Were those Shuffbags? ;)

I dunno I've never laid eyes on Lib seats but you should check out how different the two rails are. You might have to take the lib rails out and put the MY/Brumby rails on at the correct spacing so they can bolt in. I've done L series seats but they're probably very different to the Lib ones.

Do what I did - put a Liberty floor pan in as well - then they just bolt straight in :)

Yes they were shuffbags! His Vort is Sweet!
Tempting but NO, sorry nite rida not happening.
They are very different. I think ive gotta cut something, then do something with the MY rails.
Pics would be sweet.
That car the seats are out of is going to the scrapper, PM him on what he has, it is a Liberty Sedan.

What year liberty are the seats from? I did this about six months ago, the seats I used were from a 05 model. I unbolted the liberty rails did some measuring to keep the seats level and then made some brackets from 5mm angle iron to fit. from memory there is a difference of about 10mm between front and rear set of brackets.

Not sure, would have to ask shuffbag (are you there)?
At a guess a 90's model, as it was old.
The rails look nothing like my mum's 08 liberty rails.

90's model is old?! Kids these days

L Series seats will go into an MY, and Lib/Foz/Imp seats will go into an L Series, so I'd say just about anything should be interchangeable with some fiddling.

This is what El_Freddo did:
showthread.php?t=11733&highlight=seats&page=30

and showthread.php?t=11733&highlight=seats&page=31

There's also a quick description of my way, which I've explained in more detail in some other threads.

I did this but with 93 liberty seats into brumby.

Used a 1mm cutting blade on an angle grinder to slice off the mounting brackets of the brumby rails, had to use a 8 or 9mm drill bit too. sliced the mounting brackets off the liberty rails. used 35 x 3 or 4 mm by 450mm long and another piece 70mm wide flate plate to weld to the liberty rails. brumby mounting brackets were then welded onto the flat plate at appropriate widths to suit brumby floor plan. The side of the seat closest to the trans tunnel had the brackets mounted flush with the rails (trans tunnel clearance) and the door side used the wider plate to offset the mounting points inwards. This kept the height adjustability of the liberty rails and twin locking points. I will upload some photos tonight if it helps.

This my write up of putting lib seats into my "my" wagon.

showthread.php?t=17145

It may help you out, although I think the seats in the brumby are slightly narrower than the wagon?

Still slightly confused.
So MY rails bolt on, but i need to redrill into the seat so that they are the right width?

Sorry to pic this out but, they only go in with a lot of effing about :) The rail width, length and mounting holes are completely different between the two.

"My" rails bolt to the liberty seat, but you need to drive a hole for the rear bolt on the liberty seat.

The rails are a fraction wide so I drilled new holes in the brackets which are welded to the floor of the my wagon. I only needed to re drill on one side.

Yeah,
The inner: one bolts in, the other you have a perfect spot to drill a hole
outer: needs to have adapters made closer to the other.
And you also need to cut the side panel thing off, mentioned in another thread.

Isn't that pretty much what all of us here do with our cars? Whatever, new seats into MY can be and has been done.

If you're trying to use the Leather seats then I think you'll have lots of trouble, as they have electric adjustments on them and the rear of the rails is part of the lifting mechanism. I have seen them fitted but didn't get to stick my head under to find out what they did.

Sorry I couldn't be more help but I'd say to get a metal fabricator to check it out for you.

No electronics anywhere.
The height adjustments work without the rails im pretty sure.

Oh sorry.. I just thought all BC/BF Liberty seat that were Leather are electric.. my bad

I have used the manual adjustable cloth/velvet Liberty seats in an L without too much hassle. MY or Brumby aren't too much different.

Just did to my Brumby. I got the Liberty seats from Guyph.

Take the rails off the lib seats and bolt on the Brumby rails. They virtually bolt straight on. The rails near the drive train tunnel fit without and mods. It's the outside rails that need the mods to fit the holes.

The lib seats are about 70mm wider than the brumby.

Put the seats in the car and bolt up the tunnel side.

You will see how far the rail is away from the hole in the floor pan.

I cut some 4mm thick metal about 70mm long and 25mm wide and welded it to the rail so it extends back to where the floor holes are. Drill a hole about 3mm larger than you need to allow and play.

Do this to the back hole as well.

Here is a pic of the bolt.

The other pic is what to do with the old Brumby seats.
