Different front lips?

Hello.
I'm taking the alloy bumper off the front of my Brumby to fit the black plastic style one (purely because I prefer the look of it). However I have noticed that my front is different to some and possibly has been modified in some places. So time for some photos. Mine is the Red colour (P1010157)
Notice it seems as if the lower front lip/edge of the front guard is missing or modified so it doesn't protrude past the bottom of the bumper. I don't like it, it looks funny. Good for clearance I bet. But I've never seen a speed bump that big!
I have shamelessly stolen the other pics Google. (10264279AA & 9394595AA)
Notice the front guard now extends past bumper. Also the front Apron/lip is different to mine. Is this off another type of Subaru? Or particular year of brumby? Cos I want one.
All help appreciated in helping me identify this mystery Apron.
Thanks

Hi - the front skirt or valance shown in your pic no1 is as you say from a leone possibly, it's not from a Brumby (or MV as we know them).
Its possible that someone has made the skirt on this vehicle. (looks ok to me though)
There is somthing missing though......
There should also be a small chrome bar beneath the middle of the plastic bumper (well there is on European vehicles at any rate) see my 2nd image.
Here is the front of the Aussie Brumby I imported.
As you can see the front skirt / valance is 'scuptured' at each end.

Here is a shot of the front end of my UK spec vehicle showing the extra chrome under bar (for want of a better description !)

The lower part of the front fender / mudguard in your pictures 2 & 3 HAVE been cut away - they can catch on entry - exit angles when off roading (as happened to me recently !

) or as is the case in the UK they rust badly here so removal often actually improves appearance !
A pair of new ones will fix the looks back to standard !
Hope this helps you !:D

Suggest yours has been cut.
As mentioned, they catch anyways, and unlike the Ls, can the cut away with no consequence.
When you mentioned lip, thought you may been on a quest for the elusive RX Turbo style lip!
Brumby / MV front shot.

that front brace is standard on my Oz delivered Brumby, dunno if it was an accessory option (you'd thnk so as it is only bit of chrome on them!) maybe just makes them as tough as they are

That pic Giles uses is from 1984 when the MV1800 came out , just likes us to think it is his current ride seeing as though no-one is close enough to him in Halifax to prove otherwise. Going by the recent earthquake nearby , evidence in the pile of bricks in the background - off to search earthquake events in that era
Obvious fix for the appearance cometics is new guards for ute or make/design an extension.
I agree , they do look better with a standard bumper and a bit lighter, however they are also a little friendlier towards pedestrians (Harold Scruby, where are you?) and kangaroos

I've got one of those front bumper with the chrome bar and lower metal attachments. It came from my wreaked 86 My touring wagon.

Thanks Gents for your response.
I already have a plastic bumper with the chrome tube waiting to go on.
Does anyone know if the Leone valace/lower lip will fit to the front of my brumby? Clearly it will go on some how, but how easily? Also if someone knows of a Leone been wreaked let me know.
Cheers
Giles that is one clean looking vehicle you have there! Good work.
