Squeaky clutch pedal MY

Hey all.

Everytime i let the clutch out it squeaks and carries on. Ive tried grease and RP7ing the hell out of everything the pedal is connected to, also sprayed into the firewall (from inside the cabin) where the cable goes through.

How do i fix this?!! Am i not lubing the right spot or what? There are no cracks in the pedalbox so it cant be that.

The brake is starting to squeak now too...

Any advice would be tops.

Yes +1 or whatever from me too, my clutch pedal squeaks like mad, annoys the heck out of me

Could it be possible that it's not the pedal or cable itself, but something around the clutch fork? just a thought...although the squeaking for me is most audible in the cabin.

Mines doin the same cant find it rubbin on nuthin ive sprayed it and after an hour of round town driving it comes bac it is so annoying

Grease the crappy out of the return spring on the pedal.

Last time I was convinced both my brake and clutch pedals were squeaking...it was actually my drivers seat.

what grease bein' used? I hear RP7 as spray lube but does that leave any residue behind?
I swear by Lanotec in spray form. Last few things I used it on slide like nothin' else - locks and padbolts that have always had friction. The lanolin it leaves behind is clear film, and the eucy smell is a bit of koala attractant so watch out.

Something that annoyed the urine out of me recently was brake pedal sqik that after pulling the pivot rod out (so doin' clutch at same time)and greasing it all up after spraying CRC556 Fuji spec all over under there it was the brake light switch that needed removing and drowning in CRC and refit - dry plastic on dry plastic, sqik, sqik, sqik

Grease says "Shell" on it that ive had for a while, might have been CV grease...no miracles there. RP7 doesnt seem to leave any residue. It worked on the brake pedal for a little while and its now starting again.

Might go down to Repco and pick up a big can of Lanolin then, no Koalas round here to worry bout

I had a similar problem with my Leone Turbo sedan and it turned out to be a crack in the pedal box. I did the same as you and sprayed the pedal and greased the bushes on the pivot point but it only quietened it down just a little

I got so sick of it one day, I pulled the whole thing out and that's when I noticed the crack. Hope this isn't your case but thought I'd share my experiance.

Just had a look, phantomD has the right idea...... the pedal squeaks yes, but the majority of the squeaking is infact the clutch fork! Im also out of rp7...

Any ideas on that?

Also I havent seen any cracks in the pedal box.

get a bigger stereo....thats usually my fix for rattles/squeeks/clunks.

Wouldn't use any RP7 (or similar) down the clutch area. I'd recomend you live with the noise until the clutch is ready for replacement. The only way to stop the noise on the clutch fork is to grease up the pivot point and that can only be done by pulling the engine and gearbox apart from each other.

Ok thanks RSR, was hoping it wouldnt be like that. Might do a gbox swap (s/r to d/r) and maybe then it can be fixed.

Im pretty sure its the pedal box, did the same on my brumby. It's a common fault on the brumbys. until you take it out you probably wont be able to see the crack. If you can get someone to press the pedal while you stick your head in there you may be able to it flexing and notice the squeak. hard to find replacement and even if you do its worth while to get some stiffening plates welded in to prevent the same thing happening again.

Pedals arent squeaking as bad as the clutch fork. Maybe its just a small crack then haha.

and we are all forgetting the bit of body bracket that the stay bar mounts up to, they crack away from firewall - sqik at first
