Fiori Carbi Problems

Post by Corax » Mon Sep 13, 2010 11:46 pm

Hey Suba-Dudes,

My parents own a 5 speed fiori which is an excellent car for their needs. It is in good nic except for one major problem. The carbi has these flat spots or gaps that cause the car to stall when taking off/changing gears. Doesnt do it all the time just when it feels like it. Now every man and his dog has had a look at this thing and many things have been tried but the flat spots remain. Now the obvious thing to do would be to get the carbi rebuilt but as this costs around 5-600$ it is not really worth it on an $800 car. Was wondering if the carbi could be swapped for something else? ie is there another carbi type that is compatible? Or does anybody have a good genuine carbi holding open a door to their workshop? Or is there another solution that someone knows about? My parents want to fix this or they are going to get rid of it. They are sick and tired of it dropping dead in the middle of intersections not to mention how dangerous it is! Help please.

Cheers,
Corax.
