I've lost the keys to my Vortex parts
car and need to move it.

How do I disassemble the steering lock?

Not sure if it's the same as L series

pics would be fantastic!

Cheers,
Sam

I would first try and use a key from another Vortex or L.Series  Most of the time nowdays because they are a little older they tend to have worn key barrels and other keys can work them.. you may need to wiggle the keys around a bit thou ;)

normally remove covers around column, and the anti theft screws to turn them use a centre punch and chase them around.
if you not going far maybe lower column off the mounts, unplug wiring and spin whole column round and round.

Chase them?
Is there a special type of bit to
use? Torx?

nope no special tool.
just hit it around in a circle.
but try the vortex or L series key first, they really are all the same.

or use a small grinder and put a slot in the bare screw, then use a screwdriver.

or if your not wanting the steering lock or key-barrel.. just reef on the steering wheel, shouldnt be that hard to snap.. my uncle had the steering lock up on him as he was driving down the road (in his vortex) and he snapped it before crashing
