To my question.
I have recently started working on an '85 subaru brumby that i bought off my girlfriends dad. My girlfriend also has a brumby. He origionaly bought the ute that im working on for parts for that.
The ute im working on does run fine. The problem is that it keeps over heating, not necessarily quickly but eventually it does.
we have a subaru station wagon 1984 for parts for the brumby ute that im working on.
We (me and my girlfriends dad) have;
- Changed the radiator from the swagon
- changed all radiator hoses
- removed the thermostat (it actually runs cooler without it)
- changed over the water pump
Now for some reason the car sits on about halfway when the heater is on and when its turned off the car temp rises on up again.
My girlfreinds dad knows more about this stuff then me im just "assisting" and learning at the same time, im on here looking for idears of what might be causing the problem.
More information
-The car that i bought for spare parts never had overheating problems, thats why we took the radiator out of it to try that.
-The car (as far as both of us can tell) is running pretty well apart from this problem.
-The breaks arent sticking and the engine isnt havening to work any harder then it should, as i said above its running fine.
-The air filter is currently not on the carby so its not a lack of air getting into it.
Any information would be helpfull
sorry for the wall of words, just thought i should explain it as detailed as i could
Thanks guys very much
