will an EJ22 power steering pump bolt on to an EJ25? etc

headers the same?

engine mounts the same?

my car will have an EJ25 in it soon

SOHC EJ25 or DOHC? I think one had a higher deck height from memory.

Im rather sure it's double.

DOHC then. I beleive thats the one with the same deck height and larger bore (well thats what Andrew told me on the weekend).

So if thats the case i see no reason why the exhaust manifold wouldn't bolt up and you should be able to use your EJ22 mounts (that motor doesn't have any atm).

And I beleive the P/S pump can fit, provided you've got a mounting bracket. If not we can make it take it.

we got a spare ej22 to take bits off so we got the bracket etc etc... sounds like it should be a pretty easy swap

any chance it would run off the same wiring loom just with the ej25 computer

lol... taking the easy way out.... half my drama's are gone coz im just swapping ej 2 ej... yours are all still there going from EA to EJ... its a bit of a different ball game

The EJ25 has a totally different set of exhaust headers. They are actually arranged in a crossover format exactly like the turbo EJ motors. The EJ22 ones *might* bolt up to the heads but I have no idea.
Best bet would be to use the proper ones (come with the motor) and spend 10 minutes using your awesome welding skills to adapt your exhaust to them.

I seriously doubt the wiring loom will be compatible, if it is thats the biggest fluke in history. Doing the wiring for my EJ20G turbo motor, so far I am aware of three completely different looms for almost the exact same motor...just slightly different model cars.

I don't know how the deck height and engine mount situation compairs to an EJ22 but it is identical to an EJ20turbo. It used the square-type of engine mounts but I have stolen them to use on my EJ20turbo. (EJ20turbo had round fluid filled mounts but one was broken). I would hazard a guess that the EJ22 ones will bolt up fine.

Mounts can be swapped between all ej's pre-8bolt. I haven't checked if they can be swapped yet or not. Bore and stroke is different but deck height isn't.

Post 8 bolt mounts are also the same. Even EG33 and EZ30 sixes will bolt to the same crossmember with the same mounts.
Everything is interchangeable on EJ engines as far as ancillaries go, that's the beauty of EJ engines.
You don't need to use the crazy EJ25 dohc exhaust either, the EJ22 exhaust will bolt up and is usually better.

You can run the EJ25 on an EJ22 ecu but it will not run properly. I tried it on my mates L and although it ran and was driveable it pinged excessively, didn't start or run well cold and was down on power.
Don't waste the EJ25 by running it on the wrong ecu.

The only issue with swapping the PS pump is the routing of the hoses around the inlet manifold.

Does that mean it will run from the same wiring loom and simply require unplugging the EJ22 ECU and plugging in the EJ25 one instead?

Re-wiring a whole new loom is the daunting task with this swap...

Could easily blow up the ECU. If the power wires aint in the right spot there could be smoke. Im not sure what effect it coudl have on the sensors.

hmmmm. not worth the risk
