my headlights don't work!
all three wires to the bulb are showing up with positive in them.
i test the bulbs independently and the bulbs still work high
and low beam. what could be the drama?
and my indicator/cop flasher no longer operates the headlights?
Cheers
sam

Here is a very rough sketch of how your lights are wired
Have you got 12v at all light terminals when the both globes are in? or when they are out?
I think the problem is in-between the globes and the switch, or the switch and ground

Check the "earths" - connections to the body.

You not said which one you have this trouble with , I can understand forgetting in your panic
These buggers MY and L seem to switch the earth for the lights so bulbs wire end likely to have power all the time, but no earth. I recall them switchng both power pos and earth?
So confuse the confusion outta you if used to normal hook up. Pull headlight and turn combo switch out and tinker with it. I think if the high beam circuit is unhappy it won't power up or earth up low beam circuit. Check fuses, relays (little round aluminum canned ones above fuse panel (requiring neck craning) and the earths anywhere and everywhere. Were you doing somethng before with electrical or lights that may have helped this event?

so....you need to update your sig. Some auto electricians are good with just the switch if you can get it out and drop it in to them to fiddle or test.

so something that could be repaired?

They may be able to test the combo switch in the first place - assuming the wedge has same set up as the L's with high beam and high beam flasher in the stalk. Have seen a Troopy combo unit in to the auto elecs for test and a few repair attempts. Worth a shot.

So give them the switch or the whole car?

Best to ask the chosen auto elec first. If you cannot drive car legally on roads, taking switch first may be easiest for all involved.

Silly question, but have you got the ignition turned to run? these lights only work with the ignition on.

One question, do your lights come on when you pull the combi-switch to 'flash' your headlights?
Here are some diagrams i have dug up.
Now if you turn the ignition on, and disconnect plug i90, on the car side, you should have 12v at terminals C and D. This means the wiring from the headlights is intact. Plug it back in.
Now unplug i86 and on the car side you should have 12v on pin 4.
Post your results and we'll go from there

did not have the time to fix it unfortunately.
took it to an auto elecy, told me it was rooted
and installed a foot activated light switch.
$200 later, i was pretty happy.
if i find another switch i'll install that
thanx for the help team!
Finally! I CAN SEE!!
