I am replacing the passenger door which was damaged in an accident. i have removed the damaged door easily, disconnected the wiring for window etc, but now i am having all sorts of problems trying to remove the mirror from the damaged door. the 3 bolts are locked tight and have "coned" the head of the screws. I have no idea how i can remove these? Please advise. I am hoping that when i remove these 3 screws/bolts, then the whole morror assembly will dislodge from the door...

Look forward to hearing from anyone with advice for this problem..

thanks

If you have stuffed the 3 retaining bolt heads then the only option you have is to drill teh heads off or use an easy out.

From my experience - they often get rusted in the thread of the bolt, if there is enough "head" unscrew, spray WD40 in the thread if possible, if the head is no good, last option is to drill it out until the mirror is off the car then with small drill bit and use reverse tap to remove the thread out of the mirror but before you do, you need to use WD40 to make it more 'loose' to unscrew.

I was sure you could get a set of vice grips onto these but as AP said use a little WD40 or ardrox on them the day before!
