Post by trezize » Tue Nov 17, 2009 4:14 pm

Looking to replace front right CV joint on my 93 L Series wagon.

Does anyone know the driveline model is so I can order through Coventries(I don't know if this is a number or code)

Thanks

dunno anything about a code, one of the more experienced guys might, but Are you sure they don't just mean 4wd vs 2wd?
Red 1990 L series sportswagon: sports muffler, 4" lift, pod filter, powersteer conversion, pug 14's and a coupla stickers. with 27"s on their way. Everything else? Standard. For now....

"L series" outer CV's are the same fitment for any year, fwd, 4x4, turbo, auto, manual, wagon, sedan, coupe, vortex etc etc.
Slight differences between driveshafts and inner CV cups between above cars (like stronger driveshafts for turbos, 25spline inner cups for turbos and some MPFIs) but outers are same-same.
They will likely come up with the same part number listings for all if they searched for each of them.

But despite that it's much easier for them to search on a specific model.

So just tell them it's for a "93 L series 4x4 wagon non turbo" (or whatever your car is), even tho it doesn't matter.

In addition to this I'd recommend giving Alan's CV Joint a go too. Their prices are usually pretty good and I've never had a CV from them fail. On the other hand I know a few guy's who've had to make warranty claims on ones they got from Covs.
Alan's is a CV place, it's all they do.
They're located down behind Coventries in Osborne Park actually.
