i am yet to have a good look during the day, but what does it sound like when the front wheel bearings are on the way out?

i have a sound coming from up front that sounds like a really really loud tyres, lots of road noise. i rev the engine while standing at the lights nothing out of the normal. its only while rolling, but it quiets a little when i pop it into neutral.

any ideas? like i said im yet to have a look, but have never had wheel bearings go on me either.

my went click click as thay wear RS but not much sound.
the best way to tell is if the weel can be moved when on a jack and u can see movement betrewn the nut ane the hub your beareing are RS.
grape the top and bottom of the wheel and try to shake it and u will see .

First of all make sure your pin is still holding the castle nut in place - I've had two pins sheared through and fall out... I only noticed when the noise started.

Do what Phil has said. Replacing the bearings is relatively easy, just takes some time the first time you do it...

Cheers

Drive along a straight road listen for noises, Then turn the wheel to the left then right in big sweeping turns a number of times, If the noise get louder on a turn chances are it is the wheel bearings.
It is putting load on one side of the bearing and it gets louder.
