Hi, My auto 94 liberty wagon cuts out while driving and the power light flashes and usually starts again straight away.Has been very unpredictable. It is an electrical propblem and is hard to pin point problem, as it can work fine for days but then can continue stopping several times in a 100 metres if bad. My mechanic has tried several things over several weeks from coil, etc. Finally he thinks it may be the computer. Has anyone else come across this problem? Is there an accurate test to determine if it is the computer or not. If the power light is flashing is this a sure sign to the electrical or programming problem. Mechanic and owner very frustrated, please help.

how many flashes is the power light giving as I understand it thats a fault code ( I might be wrong)

which should tell you what the problem is once you know the fault code

Can you clear up a bit, "Power Light Flashes" meaning check engine light that is flashing? and does the engine shutdown/cut off to complete stop ie. stalled? But can be restarted after stalled?

I think the first place is to check the error codes.. Which "94" liberty is it, is it Gen 1 or 2?

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I am not sure what gen the car is.In the servic e booklet records it is Liberty 4GXWA, if that helps. The engine light is sometimes on when the car engine cuts out but does not flash. Its when I go to restart the engine that the power light flashes (& nothing else is displayed as the engine has started), you cant seem to drive the car fwd until the power light goes off.
The car is an auto and the engine completely cuts out and then it will usually start straight away. When the car is at its worst, the car engine will start /turnover each time but will then stall again and again, thats at its worst.

I am not sure yet how long it flashes for but after a couple of tries I think it flashes 16 times.
