After using Premium fuel like suggested i am still get run on with my weber carby. The fuel must continue to run into the carby after being turned off and just firing off the hot engine. It doesnt sound nice when it happens, the engine shakes around and then makes a hissing noise. Any suggestions on how i can fix this. It doesn't happen every time i turn the car off just most of the time.

Paul did you use a fuel like Ultimate or Optimax? Mine still diesels when I use Caltex's Vortex. If you havent already - try a 98RON fuel. Also make sure you havent got a huge primary idle jet. What rpm does your car idle at?

what thermostat are you running? tried running a cooler one? whats the engine temp like? sounds like to me that the motor is running excessively warmer that what it should be...

You are running on because the webber has no idle shut off. Try the lowest, leanest idle. Failing that you will need to make a throttle/idle solinoid as used on the old HJ to HZ Holdens

Hey steve so this solenoid would take the place of the idle screw? So when you shut off engine it make the idle adjustmust the smallest it can be when no power to it and reaxpand once the engine ign. is on on?

Hey steve,
Have you ever tried this or was it just an solution for the problem? Ifso what solenoid was used? As I went to coventry auto and asked if they had any idle shut-off solenoids that could adapt to my webber, the bloke looked at me asif I was crazy.

Try using a air con hold up vacumn unit from a air con subi You need the vacumn solinoid to activate it. Yes it works , yes I have done it
