G'day all. I have a 92 liberty wagon and it appears to have a huge miss. like the whole right side (ie 2 spark plugs not firing or low firing) I have recently bought the car to fix as a project. the guy I bought it from has not been clear as to what when on but from what I can make out(my guess of problem and solution), him and his mates may have been thrashing the shit out of it. as a result slipped a notch on the trimming belt and sending the computer into a protection mode and retards timing. I em in no way qualifyed or experinced in Subi's. all i know is i love this car and have been Subi bitten on first drive lol.

and its running like crap at the moment and I still love the drive. shes worth fixing. can anyone throw more light onto it? em I in the ball park of problem?

there is no evidence of head gasket leaking, no temp increase..
thanx all

we fixed an EJ22 out in alice that was 180deg out on the passenger side bank and still ran...

it ran rough and was way down on power. still cruised at 130 though ;)

SOHC engines are very easy to re time. you can check the timing just by pulling the small timing belt cover off each side. rip them off and have a look.

A common mistake is to set the timing by the big arrows on the cogs rather than the little notches - it's the little notches you go by.
