Automatic choke

Is it possible to adjust a automatic choke?
When I start the car up in the mornings it starts idling up at 2grand until the engine warms up. 2grand seems a little rough to me on a dead cold engine, I'd much prefer if it was 1500rpm or something.

Does anyone know what its supposed to idle at?

This is on a 89 ea82T.

MIne has ALWAYS been between 1500 and 2000 - thats fine. Sometimes i have noticed that on a slightly 'fresher' morning it will be a little higher.

I would think that there is little to worry about - it sounds like it is the first time it has done this so just monitor it over a few days and see what you get.

Nah, its been doing it ever since I have had the car (not all that long) and has always been at 2grand or just under. I was just curious as to whether the idle at 2000rpm was standard or whether it had been fiddled with at some stage.

So you know of no way to adjust it? I don't think you can.

My leone was around there when I was driving before the conversion started. I wouldn't waoory about it. My RS get driven out the garage down the drive firts gear 2000rpm 2nd 4000rpm full boost. She's still singing sweet.

It's actually not a choke in the true sense of the word - it's your throttle bypass valve - and I'm sure you can adjust if you want. Not sure how on an EA82 turbo however.

The only way to adjust it is to put a 5/8 LPG main vapour line adjuster in the hose to or from the idle up device.
