Which fuel pump?

URGENT REQUIREMENT
running EA-82 NA
what would be the best bosch pump to run, with regards to size.
i wish to downgrade from my bosch 910 pump, just too big
for my needs and having massive surging problems when the
pump gets too hot because of the resistance in pressure!
i just want a bosch pump that is perfect as i can't get my hands on a
stock one.
cheers,

I assure you that it has nothing to do with "resistance in pressure" , it's all about so much fuel being bypassed by the regulator (because the pump capacity is too high) .
An EFI fuel pressure regulator is simply a valve that opens when the fuel pressure reaches the regulated pressure . If you feed the fuel rail a lot of fuel the FPR will open and pass a lot of fuel to the return line , if you feed the rail adequately there is less fuel to send back in the return line . The less fuel volume doing circuits the less heat is transfered back to the main fuel reservoir (tank) or in your case small reservoir (swirl pot) .
I suggest you look at the pump Bosch do for the VL Commodore or the VL Turbo Commodore .
Like I said before the turbo version made 153 odd Kw and if you do a few searches on these pumps they are common and reasonably cheap for a genuine Bosch item .
I did a quick search and I "think" the part number is 0 580 464 070 , some call them the "070" pump .
If you want something that looks exactly like your std pump you could ask Nissan for an EFI pump from an MR30 Skyline (2.4E) 1981-85 but I doubt you'd pay what they want .
VL-T pump is what I use , simple/affordable/common/fits .

i also use the vl pump its a bit loud but hasn't let me down yet. and you can get nice mounting hardware for them.

The VL pump is in the factory rubber supported mount in my 85/86 L RX turbo . No more noise than the factory pump .

Anyone got a pic of the factory mounting arrangement? Mine is currently very noisy.

Thanx guys,
Will get an 070 then,
the 910 has massive noise too, have already been thinking of a
rig with alot of padding for noise suppression.
Cheers,
