EA82T bad idle

Post by chriSTIan » Tue Jul 29, 2008 7:46 pm

Hi all
Just finished a rebuild on a mates rx turbo,we replaced the rings, recond the heads, new belts, plugs, fuel filter, seals and gaskets etc..
The car runs fine once on boost but at idle it hunts and stalls.
When the car was bought it never ran properly we then found out that there was an air leak at the inlet manifold gasket.
Just want to know if the injectors weren't spraying properly if it could be the cause, what about a dodgy air flow meter?
Thanx for your input
Chris

or the hose that carries air through the fast idle thing under the thermostat and into the inlet plenum about 75mm long 12.8mm ID ?

What sort of AFM ? flapper or hotwire ?

standard RX EA82T or vortex style with (4 legged) spider manifold ?

and someone is gonna ask about timing belts install procedure.....

also , the seals that each injector sits on in the manifold - seen them stuffed causing diagnostic chaos in a Falcon
