help me with a missing problem/surging

gday gday,

so after a record ej22 swap i have one smallish issue with the motor. It seems to be missing/surging.

i have changed the
-plugs
-leads
-fuel filter

cleaned all the connections (three smallish clips near the intake), injectors and other random plugs such as afm and 02 sensor etc.

my main question for this thread are the three main engine plugs. (the big ones) i sprayed them with degreaser and bang she ran fine. Then i turned the car off, and started it again and the miss was back. Can a shitty connection here cause this problem? I plan to chop these plugs outta my wreck and put them in the wagon (biggish job).

any other ideas? or opinions?

thanks

alex

What did u use for your exhaust manifold gaskets??? Goo?? Sensor safe Goo??

Sorta seams like O2 sensor to me... unplug the O2 sensor and see what that does.

Does it idle ok and only miss when you put your foot down??

Also you are right if them plugs get moisture or stuff in them it can make it carry on. There is contact electrical cleaner that Dicks Smiths sells thats good to clean them up with.

Also have you got your fuel return and evap lines the right way?? If u do it wrong then a bit of fuel will back feed up the evap line and make your engine flood ever so slightly which will cause it to surge.

Ohh got ya... thanks for that... read through my post like 5 times trying to work out what he was on about. I have actually experienced my above coments over the years creating misses and surges so i couldn't understand what was going on.

More on topic... did you end up fixing it Alex?

Thanks again

its sort of fixed itself.

but i think ive narrowed it down to the o2 sensor. The car misses and runs like crap after a water crossing (even a shollow one) and the o2 sensor is the only thing i can think of that would get submersed and cause the motor to run funny. Im changing it soon.
