got a brumby ea81 the engine runs on after key is turned off,i've checked timing(ok),done a upper engine clean with the stuff from subaru.the car seems like it stops coz it runs out of fuel, but the car turns off ok sometimes and happens hot and cold
any suggestions

There is a solenoid in the carby called an 'anti dieseling solenoid' It cuts fuel flow when you turn the key off. With fuel flow an engine can continue to run through diesel combustion rather then normal spark combustion.

On older carbs through heat and perishment the wires going to the solenoid can fail meaning you may have to replace the solenoid or just accept that your car will sometimes continue to run.

well i have a webber 32/36 but it run on with both carbies the hitichi and the webber thanks for the suggestion

If you have carbon deposits in the combustion chamber, these will glow and can cause the engine to ignite fuel after the ignition coil stops sparking
