90 Brumby Cutting out while Accelerating
G'Day Guys,
Got a problem with my new brumby loosing power during accelleration - bad enough that sometimes I have to chuck on the hazards.
Occurs When:
Engine is cold and going up an incline at lower revs
When engine is warm and are in the high revs going up an incline
What I've done so far
I've taken the carby apart and put in new gaskets and the other bits and peices,
put a new fuel filter in (please excuse my ignorance - but I heard there may be 2 fuel filters- where is the other one??)
New spark plugs
Replaced all 5 leads from the dizzy
Adjusted the timing
replaced the ignitor module in the dizzy
I've just sent the Vacum Advance unit off to be re-conditioned as it was buggered (hopefully putting it back on thisarvo).
Any other ideas as to what this might be??
Cheers Lads.
Reg.

ye like others have said change the other filter but will it do this if u rev it up (in ur drive way) does it still like cut out
DOES THE CARBY HAVE A RETURN LINE if so try and block it off so the fuel cant return to the tank there for supplyin all fuel to the carb
mine was doin this the other day blank the return hoses fixed it i think the fuel pump might b on its way out but this is wrkin 4 now

No - it wouldn't do it sitting in the driveway reving it or even going down a hill and getting up in the revs
I changed the fuel filter and put on the re-conditioned vacum advance unit and it seems to have worked - gave it a good work out first thing on Sunday morning (while it was cold) and it didn't miss a beat up Mt Cootha and then onto the freeway when it was warm and no dramas - Yee Haa!
