My engine is actually a EA82T with a 4 plug ECU, with a hotwire Air flow meter. I need to eliminate this as being defective before I move onto the injectors with my flat spot problem.
I was wondering if anyone has measured their signal (+ on wire next to blank in plug, to - neg earth)?
My results by OEM manual for this says it should be 1.5-2.0V at idle. I get 1.7V - ok. Blow on hotwire with ignition on - should be higher than what I measured at 1.7V, no worries it goes to 3.5V.
Go for a drive, gets only as high as 5.0V at open throttle (not red lined)
This input voltage is 10V as per manual is correct too.
The injector bloke I contacted says many a problem is howire to ECU, not injectors (common with early WRX too). Mine was filthy as before I cleaned it, as it made a huge difference, but he reckons that affects the calibration. I want to be sure where i am at with this?
Any feedback appreciated or anyone repeating my measurements, I would be most grateful.
Failing this, I would like to swap one for a test from someone in WA.
Cheers Roger
