Hi Everyone.
I have a rather loud exhaust on my L series and in the mornings thanks to the auto choke on my L's carb I have to put up with the engine sitting at 2500-2800RPM idle (pretty loud in a residential area) for the first 1-2km of driving.
Is there any way to adjust the auto choke or even get rid of it completely as its starting to annoy me.
Thanks

if you have an automatic choke that is electrical it is simple enough to find the choke solenoid power and remove power to it, just make sure you don't remove the idle soleniod power, if it is a water choke (water pipes to the choke assembly) bypass the choke and it is disabled or retro fit a manually controlled choke from an early model MY wagon circa 82-83

I might if I have troubles getting it started in the morning but it doesn't get very cold where I live so I should be ok but thanks for the tip.TOONGA wrote:great I was thinking if needed you could splice an on off switch into the solenoid wire, that way you could use the choke to start, then when going use the switch to stop the choke
