Rattles in Tribeca - Comments Please !!!

Post by Craig Hess » Tue Nov 24, 2009 5:24 pm

It is my misfortune to have recently purchased my first Subaru in May 09. Since owning this vehicle it has been returned to the dealer 10 times in the past 8 months to repair various rattles. Subaru has identified and replaced parts in the tail gate, but they seem unable to repair (or address) the problems with the 2nd row seats. Every time the vehicle is sent to the dealer they fix the issue only to have it return the moment we reposition the seats. (This is a concern as we own the 7 seater model). They are trying to convince me that the rattles are appearing in different components (although in a similar location).

My question is
1. Are other Tribeca owners experiencing similar issues or do I own a Monday/Friday vehicle.

2. Given that I am completely frustrated with the situation how would proceed to try and have the situation resolved.

I would appreciate any feed back you may have to offer.

My friend bought one new as well, says it was the worst decision he ever made. Nothing but trouble. Im pretty sure the auto write ups gave them a bad wrap as well. But yeah id be trying another dealer.

yeh, it is a common fault with the tribeca's, it has it abit in my 05 forester too, but i have put that down to the cargo blind. it only seem's to be the tribeca's that are the "bad subaru's" with alot of problems. all that i can say mate, is take it to city subaru or something, or another dealer, and that should have got a forester. haha. jks. but seriously, take it to another dealer.

Cheers Mike.
