Parking Pawl recall on Autos?

Post by Red H6 » Sun Jun 14, 2009 6:42 pm

Another question from the new guy!

A recall was conducted on MY02 Automatic transmissons to replace the parking pawl. Does anyone know exactly how the pawl is replaced? Ie do they need to go in through the auto sump?

Even better, does anyone have a copy of the service bulletin sent out to dealers explaining exactly how to carry out the recall?

Much appreciated.

Cheers

if they are the same as the early boxes then you will just have to remove the rear transfer housing from the box.

Take off the auto pan, remove valve body, knock out old parking rod, replace with new rod, refit everything and reseal etc.

What's your email and i'll send you it.

Why do you want to know?
Are you going to do it yourself? Subaru still do it as its a recall.
