Snapped key ignition 89 liberty

Hey guys Been meaning to register and post for a while but have been busy

i have an 89 liberty wagon and yesterday morning dropping a drunk friend home he tried to remove the key when i parked at his place for me to come in for drinks not realising it was turned on and snapped the key

now ive removed the ignition barrel and it seems the end were the key goes in may come off if it could would save me alot of time and money retrievingthe key as it is my only one is this possible or are there other ways to retrieve?
