overheating
gday guys been having trouble with the L series overheating, i replaced the thermostat the other day, the car is fine cuising round around 0-80kmph but after that it heats up rapidly, i have a second fan running to cool the radiator but doesnt seem to be cooling effectively. so after that still no luck, i think the radiator is gone. does anyone have a spare lying around that they could part with? just in Adelaide, failing that would an early liberty radiator fit the L? cheers guys.

Are you sure your electric fan is pushing air in the right direction?
That would explain why its ok 0-80kmh, but overheats as you drive faster

take the car to a radiator shop. THey can service it for you. Rod it and flush it out properly.
and no...a liberty radiator takes some pretty serious modding to the l-series rad supprt and stuff to make it fit.

I got a new radiator for $220. Made by SSS. Only problem was it's a few mm taller than the original, so installation was a bit fiddly.subusurfer wrote:the radiator looks as if its been fixed a few times, may not have much to work with. i will try get it down to a mechanic Monday, what sort of price range are we looking at? cheers for all your help guys.
