4WDing to Montezuma Falls

Post by bluesteel » Tue Apr 15, 2008 12:18 pm

went for a bit of a drive in Adam and Trents cars to Montezuma Falls on the west coast of Tasmania

it was a nice cruisy drive to the falls, just lots of sharp holes everywhere, but nothing too tough

we went for a short walk to the falls for a look

then we went down the ring river track on the way back and trent drowned the brumby, just kept stalling everytime it got wet, so couldnt drive through that way so we turned around and went back out the way we came

just as we started down the highway on the way home the rear wheel bearing decided to collapse on the brumby, could get about 30deg movement in the wheel

so we piled into adams wagon and left the brumby there to fix another day

hers the pics... of course
most of the photos were talken out the back of the brumby, so almost everything turned out blurry... moving vehicle +l ow light = bad

Man, I so want to be back there! Although, i was subaru-less at the time, but my mate had his L series (reason why I started looking for a subaru). We didn't do anything serious on the 4wd tracks as we had no recovery gear, or a great experince in 4wdin.

Those falls were great though!
