My little ramble for the night
Started with the brumby.
About 2 -3 months ago, i jumped in the brumby to head to work to get half way up the road and cough cough dead.
I was running late. So i did a head check and rolled the ute back down the road up the gutter and left it on my nature strip for....well 2-3 months:P
I then moved housies, not too long ago and decided to give the brumby a go.
Still no fire.
Just turned over but no start.
I pulled the carbie apart and broke it:P So i pulled one of my spare L series and fitted it. (was fiddly)
Tried to start. still nothing.
I drained the fuel to find 9 litres of water in there :O
Woah!!
I gave up for the week.
Had another go the next week or so. To find more water in the fuel... Apporx 5 litres to be exact.
I pulled out the fuel tank to find that there was a bunch of nails through the tray and into the fuel tank. I counted 7... That could explain the water in the fuel.
I pulled out the nails, put a new tank in, filled her up, and vroomm. It's alive..
So happy.

Then i bought another L wagon for my missus as a surprise gift.
Let me warn you all. Never try and be helpful to women!!.. "I don't like it, i want an auto!!!! Sell it.. Meh. I was devistated. B!tch.
Had a bit of damage to the bonnet, under bumper piece, and vacuum bottle had disinegrated.
After about 1.5 hours, and a bit of tongue maneuvering, i managed to replace the damage. I took the parts from the Monster Wagon and parts car.
It was quite difficult taking the bonnet of a large subaru myself and putting a new one on.. but i got there.
Happy with the out come.
All that's left if a CV replacement and a brake pad change, install power steering and she is ready to sell.

My guess is that he nailed some wood onto the tray, went straight through into the tank.

i like the fact that you bough an L series for your missus, and she doesnt complain about the car, only the tranmission bahaha.
lovin the scoop- maybe some carboard will fix the stoneguard as a nice front lip too

So that L had done the same "wrap the bonnet over the windscreen" trick that baz (my sister's '84 L Leone) had done to her one day... Nice.

Shame your girl didn't want it... You can buy me a surpise L anyday Fatz, I prefer manual and it doesn't matter if there's a scoop or not...

Glad the brumby's going again - Sunnie had an issue this morning, a loose battery connection... All good now.

Just keep the L in the driveway, she'll come round
