Finke 2009

Post by Outback bloke » Sat Jun 21, 2008 7:34 pm

I have no idea if we will have a van or not by then, or what sort of car. We do know we are going again for sure. That doesn't really matter though as we are already planning a fly/hire/fly trip this time. That way it leaves us with more time when we do our travel for the year.

Is it too early to ask for a hands up?

I have a new goal toy now and it doens't include wheels. Probably going to cost as much as a pro buggy though. :D:D

Talking about it on the way home I couldn't justify the cost of building the car I want because it doesn't just stop there. Then need a tow vehicle and trailer and that is where the budget wouldn't cope. We are just going to have to make sure you keep racing yours.

I'm coming next time! Can I be passenger for the race car???

Shotgun front seat of Wilbur's car for the trip so I don't end up with a broken car :)

Wilber might be flying next year. Probably won't have time to drive.

You're now talking about yourself in the third person?
And since when are you short of time? You have more time than anyone I know!

Flying is great Bruce. If I could con someone into dragging my racecar around, I would fly too.

You can book the flights, somewhere to stay and a hire car to thrash.

Since the new job thing....or I could just can the whole lot and come back with Dave ;) That way finke would never be a problem.

Cool man but I think the cost might scare you. I spend more on maintenance on that thing than my entire race budget. Earns me more as well.

Stuart - I have never been in a plane before, so flying is a little terrifying to me right now!

$250,000 to buy and only $150/hr running costs. :D I'm sure I can fit it in to my budget. NOT.

What I'd like to know is where you are going to park it when you go and do the shopping and where you will fit all my presents?

You realise of course that flying is safer than crossing the road? Look, I'll take you for a quick fly around and you can see how easy it is. Plus, I hardly ever crash.

Well I feel much safer and more confident about flying now that I know you 'hardly ever crash'.
