Sth Aust 4WD tracks

Post by jsubie » Fri Nov 30, 2007 9:22 pm

OK this thread is for SA'ers to post any track you have found and have tried it out. Please post any relevant info on the track such as where it is, how difficult it is and so on ; and if you can paste a map from google maps would be great.

Goolwa Beach
Head to Goolwa turn to the beach at the roundabout on the Goolwa to Victor Harbor rd when you get to the car park take siding to the left. Stay out of the ruts if there is any. The beach is easy going but you can find some thick sand if you want.
On the hole it is easy all round.

At the top of Sellicks hill past the Victory hotel there is a little bit along the top of the hill, looks illegal so I haven't checked it out much.

Theres a guy who owns a place near the express way, next time I go there I'll let you know. Don't want to say where it is due to it being owned by a nice 4WD enthusiast.

There are some awesome tracks along the beach between beachport and robe you could easily spend an entire weekend or more up there.

Yeah you're supposed to turn into the bike track stadium or something then follow it around till you get to houses. I tried to get in there one day but they have put large 'dont drive here its hurts the environment' signs up and have dug a trench pretty much impossible to get over, in my car anyway and put boulders in the way. After all that, i found out you're supposed to go further around the houses and there is a way to get in there. It looks worth it if you can find the way in...

Just got back from Loveday 4WD Park had great time showing off the capability of the old suby. Tony at Loveday has done a unbelievable amount of work to the comp tracks. But I got a bit heavy footed on the comp track and the second to last mound got the front end a bit airbourne and the back wheels drag their heels of sorts which resulted in the front end slamming into the ground. So I had to nurse the car all the way home so the Lseries is of to see the suby doctor.
