at yorkes, anyone tackled this in a l series? me and a mate got his 87 land cruiser stuck in there for a good hour or so trying to get out up a fairly intense dune. Wondering if i could succeed with stock tyres and a 2" lift?

I don't think that most of us would dream of thrashing around in any park

yer i wasn't looking to thrash around in a park or hack up the vegetation, i thought maybe there were some sandy tracks or fire tracks which could be a bit of fun if the surfs flat.

most of the beaches are not accessible by car and the one that is is pondi, near the boat ramp....iv heard of someone driving around to the point in a suby before, but it could be a bit sketchy....(for those that have walked that bit of beach will know) plus not suppose to anyway. :P
dont know bout any fire tracks in the park?

There are a couple of SERIOUS beach tracks around Daly Heads and Gyms beach.
Using google earth I think I found one of them but it is difficult to remember using a satellite view but copy and paste this into search tab:
35 00' 20.0"S, 136 58' 00"E
The target is just east of the access point.
Also some further north towards corny but just fill up the tank and go for an explore.
EDIT: Zoom out and look at Yorkes as a whole, half was taken in summer the other in winter, the colour difference is AMAZING!
