moving to adelaide
hi South Australians, I am going to move to Adelaide for work (I think), and I'm wondering how tough the registration authorities are?
Also what suburbs should I try to avoid buying as house in, or are there no dodgy suburbs in Adelaide.

Hi Mate,
SA has the reputation of having fairly easy rego authorities. Having said that, if you get an inspector that has had a bad nights sleep they can be right pains. I take it you are asking as you want to transfer a vehicles rego to SA?
Why are you concerned?
In regard to suburbs it might be easier for you to tell us where you will be working so we can start in the right area of town and maybe suburbs you are interested in moving to.
I personally live 5km south east of the CBD and wouldn't live anywhere else but there are plenty of other great areas.

I re registered a 40 year old Renault which hadn't seen rego in 15 years, with only the papers and my verbal confirmation that the engine number was the same. no one saw it, or cared. but transfer from interstate will be checked, and as already said, it depends on the inspector as to how much hassle you get. once its through, it would need to be totally rooted, or look like a hoon car, to get defected. as for where to live, there are very few areas I'd say no to.
