So in the past two months I've seen 3 main SA members on here either sell their Subaru or are selling them. what's going on people?! Anyone new on here to make up the numbers!?

Apparently there's an issue with signing up new members (or so I'm told).

Plus I believe Facebook has killed off many new memberships to the forum :(

But don't worry, I'll be hanging on with a death grip

Too right!

Although I don't post every day and progress on my project car has been slow to non-existent lately :( I'm still safely in old subie land for the foreseeable future ;)

It is sad others have sold off their prides and joys, and very true that bookface gets alot of action in this subject and probably stops people visiting here. Maybe we need more exposure...like a nice flashy sticker we can put on our cars pointing curious onlookers in this direction. I would put one on my wagon and ute for sure. Have to get the wagon on the road though first to get peoples attention

And on this topic, has anyone seen or heard from Jonno (steptoe) lately? has he simply lost his Aus-sub password ??

Not South Australian but I'm still here ... I have a look in every day ... Jonno is probably busy with life

Sorry guys, I am an SA member with a Brumby for sale. Unfortunately, it can't accommodate the family and I can't realistically keep it.
Hopefully it will be sold to someone local and I'll be sure to advise them to join up here.
It's a shame if facebook is preventing people from joining - I'm a member of a facebook group that is nowhere near as useful as this forum.

Cheers

It's not that Facebook is preventing people from joining up, Facebook makes it far too easy to access the groups - therefore people in our general nature cannot be bothered to join up and actively use a forum type interface, even though it makes communications and future searches very easy.

Plus I've found Facebook seems to allow every d*ckhead on there think that they're a god like authority on what ever subject is at hand...

And Johnno's probably got that fancy new nbn and is still working out how to use it. Either that or his connection is so quick that we can't read his posts as they've gone into the future already (or something that makes sense!).

Cheers

David D: do what I've done - get a Subaru wagon. Donkeytits is showing how one can be done

I am not in SA either but life does take over and things go in cycles.
I check in from time to time as a lot of people do.
In reading these posts I realise I haven't had my wagon out for about 3 weeks so if anything is achieved from reading this is I will get it started and out over the weekend.
I too have the Facebook connection but this forum is more direct and personal that Facebook any day.

I understand that Subarus don't suit many situations. if i ever get my Brumby going I'll never sell it, plan to build a small shed and store it in there when I don't have a need for it.

Well, I haven't had time to touch my brumby, but it's not going anywhere. And our GJ impreza has now clocked over 30.000km and going like a champ.

Well this is one SA subi lover thats getting another car but will be off the compass for doing anything for the next 3-1/2 months as got a contract at the Flinders Uni. A 4 door Liberty with all the biscuits and with the joy if I want to drive around the farm I can do it in comfort.

Cheers Bryan

i lurk around from time to time..... you never really leave

my wrx swapped impreza got moved on after AFM issues, turns out a 98 model is a unique model and there was only one new AFM in the country.... in Sydney for $1000+

got lucky from a import wrecker after many others laughed at my predicament.
might get another L further down the track

Shuffbag, did you look at getting the AFM repaired? I get quite a few 'things' repaired by a mob in Melbourne, over the years I've never had an issue with any of them.

I don't know! :( I am a little worried, but it seems nobody on here knows him IRL or where he lives so nobody can go check.

Surely someone here knows him and his whereabouts?
