Goolwa beach 22nd Nov

Post by Phizinza » Mon Sep 29, 2008 12:37 pm

Just thought I'd let you know we're (people from the bbq I had last month) are planning a day out down goolwa beach on the 22nd. Not sure on details yet. Probably get down there by 10 or so and have a play, maybe some fishing. Then eat. Afterwards maybe come over to Yankalilla and chill with a beer in the shed.
Anyhow I'll update you'all on it.

There was 7 of us. Was hoping for more, but it looks like we're going to make it a bi-monthly thing or something like that and maybe it will catch on with a few more people.

Just let them down to 7-10psi and drive carefully, shouldn't have a problem. I did get stuck there once with my 215/60R15's on the Brumby. But that must have been the directional tread screwing things up as my brother had 175 bald van tyres on his wagon and had no issues.

Its all just beach driving. Can't go on the dunes and I think you can get done for playing in the mud around the corner on the mouth. Might head out to Coles Crossing, or maybe back my way for some dirt roads. It will be too dry to find mud but driving still fun.

Might be able to make it there, don't think I have anything on that day.

Reckon a stock 91 L series will make it where you are planning on going? Never had issues getting on there, but never tried going all the way to the end before. Be good to finally catch up with some SA subies, migh tget me off my ass for the lift kit and diff weld finally....

I think I'll be able to make it. My 93 L is still standard except I got a set of 14" sunny's with l/truck tyres on these days. Looking at Jan or early Feb before I get the lift kit and exhuast.

Yeah, bring the rod. Pretty much it will just be driving down to the mouth, hanging out and talking then some lunch down there. Stock subie will be fine. You just need to let the tyres down to about 10psi and don't turn to hard. I've down it before and had no issues at all.
Hoping to have a Subaru by then, if not it may just have to be my dad's again.

I can understand the busy thing, this month is full and that's why we've got it happening late Nov.

Looking forward to it - planning on bringing a 20l keg of homebrew beer for the beach or later on if anyone is interested in beer (in moderation - of course!).

Any favourite types of beer to base it on?

Normally like the corona style beers in summer, but open to make others such as Pale Ale or anything really.

Can give one a try and see how it goes...

Organised a miracle box for the beer, so should be nice and cold.

Can't wait to see all those subi's hitting the sand.
