Looking forward to meeting everyone down there. Might cast out some lures for salmon trout while we are down there.

scrap that got mates coming along gave them the option of surf/bmx up that way and they were keen. so are there any one from near ttg going up and if so would you like to meet/drive up at the same time?

Scrub the fishing I think, will be likely to be 25-30 kt winds onshore. Got a mate who kitesurfs who might drop by if he is out and sees a line of subis on the beach.

Should be a good day.

Well i'll be there. Just read the weather report, there may not be much beach to drive on but I've not been all the way along to the river mouth before.

Yes, I have been down there when waves crash against the dunes.. Not much fun. Further down the Coorong I had a wave come right up my fender and on to my windscreen. Just jammed it in first low and put my foot through the floor.
Weather does look crap, but we'll see what we can do to get around it. I'll be in the stockie 85 wagon and I'm happy to lead just incase it gets hard.

I was spuwen these last couple of days...the forum wouldnt let me post ANYTHING...and i couldnt inform people i was gonna be down at Goolwa beach today! When myself and my mates dad in his navara rocked up, we hit the sand straight away, and i saw a few suby's awaiting the rest of the crew! i was so keen to hit up that cruise! but alas, we were there for cockling!(and we got 2 eski's full!) saw everyone cruise by when the crew was complete! looked rad! i gave a wave! :P

i loved every minute of my drive! first time driving on sand...and unfortunately in the first, maybe, 30seconds, i got bogged haha...that shattered confidence! but i got a push in reverse out of it and i was on my way.(in my defence, my mates dad slowed down HEAPS at one point.in that first bit of sand whilst i was behind him..so i bailed and missed a gear...but i shouldnt have been that close...oh wells!...learning cuurve...and the whole time i didnt let any air out of tyres...:S was fine

How was the cruise guys? I am definitely up for it next time! I saw a couple more L's cockling too ey...

also, the rain provided a few slushy mud patches on the sides of roads and stuff...hit them up for sure haha....funny story actually..after i ploughed some mud, my steering wheel was shuttering left and right (very little, to the left and right) but flat out! and after the sand it was even worse! i was F-a-REAKING! haha...turns out the mud had stuck and thrown the wheel balance out quite abit...cleaned the rims....she was fiine haha...man i m learning....

what an essay-like post!

I had a great day, hope everyone else did!

Hey Jason I was up at the car park watching as you went down to the beach. You would be surprised at how many people get stuck there, but hopefully you only do it the one time. It was great to meet up with everyone and put faces to names.

hope this link works

Uh theres nothing bad about all of those suby's! maaan o man...i wish my mates old man didnt take to the sand so soon...i was gonna say howdy!, however we had to be back on the other side of town by 1....and we didnt get there til like 3 anyways so we were rushing the whole day!....

Loveday sounds snazy for next trip(assuming its the 4X4adventure park)!...the dude from Gawler ARB said, and i quote, "Theres alot of knob-jockies at Loveday" haha...apparently alot of offroaders hit it up and own the track and are losers....keen to be apart of a fleet of suby's owning it though! haha i got a brochure for it and looks sweeeetaahh...it would have to be a few days up there , camping at river, wouldnt it? considering the drive..

Paul [86L] from the Subie club SA told me Saunders was weak, and he'd never pay that again to go there.

Yes, loveday is about the best it gets in SA as far as I know. I'll gather some pictures and videos and post them up in the next trip thread.
