WayneO dropped in

Post by RSR 555 » Thu Feb 20, 2014 3:35 pm

Well WayneO dropped in for some new shocks and springs in his L rocket. Things were going great until we had issues with the rear shocks (which I think he's going to post a thread about) and once the car was completed, we took a trip up to Wedge to get the line wet. Winds were horrendous and fishing was dead, so we thought we'd head further north for a nice bay. Found one just passed Cervantes which turned out perfect.

WayneO's big double header :)

Cheers for the Fantastic job you have done on my wagon once again, it feels good to know when you leave a trusted Mechanic that you know there will be no further issues with the job done, I will travel from Kalbarri to Rockingham every time my L needs work, sure near on 600km to have the L worked on may seem excessive however I know the right job gets done the first time and Paul is a great Mechanic and will not rip you off in price or work.

I would have been stuck in Perth / Rockingham if not for Paul's (RSR Performance in Rockingham) patience and expertise in getting me back on my way.

Paul has mentioned above there was a decent problem we encountered and that I might start a thread to address this, we he is right I will be starting a thread and it should be read by "ALL" L Series owners to avoid purchasing faulty parts.

Confused well the thread will be entitled ( Beware KYB shocks, Bad Batch ), should be up tomorrow night.

On a different note, had a blast with Paul and Jayson on this recent Fishing trip, I should use the term Fishing loosely as I did not do so well, yet Paul again cleaned up with Tailor and big Herring on our last night just north of Cervantes, I also have some photos "Paul" I will start off with the L's new springs and shocks and thank you for showing my huge double header of Blowies.

I am sure we will revisit this spot.

Heya Taza, good to hear from ya, yeah bloke we had a blast and discovered some nice sheltered fishing spots, hope you can join in on the next one.

Yeah Paul knows his stuff, and I even HAVE to admit it, he is quite a good fisho as well as a top Mechanic.

Cheers

Yeah I'm still kicking around, Don't have much free time these days. In the past 6 months I've been offroad maybe twice. Considering trading The Foz for a road car. It doesn't get the treatment and abuse it deserves anymore :(

Sorry to say Doug but I found 3 grains of sand under her... I was shocked and asked him not to bring it back in this condition again, or I'd have to put my prices up.

That's right Doug.. we were just testing out the articulation.

Heya Doug, we were talking about you on this run wishin you were here with us, the only reason we did not call was we were not sure when we were going to leave Rocko as we were not sure how long it was going to take to fix the L and did not want to have a set time to work with.

will give you a call for the next time I am down just incase we have another fish on the way back up, would be good to catch up again.

Still looking at that ant race, the L is sitting on "TOP" of the sand so it does not squash those ants.

Cheers

All bad stuff I hope, dont want people on here getting the wrong impression :D.

No stress mate, My old wagon isnt running at the moment anyway. Becides, by the looks of that sand my tyres would have been hopeless = lots-o-pushing

Yeah Mate any time your down this way and need somewhere to crash, I got a spare room. Once I finish this work to my wagon Il deffinately need to test it out thoroughly ;).

More MY support? You got it, cant be letting the L series boys have all the fun.

Doug

New suspension - sweet!
You guys seem to have all the fun.

Out of interest, what are the part numbers for the front and rear springs and dampers?

We try to :) That's what Subaru's are for

As for part number and the likes.. I'm leaving it to WayneO to write this up.. as he has the Parts Thread going and the issue we found would be perfect for other to know about. As it ended up costing us a few hours waiting for the correct parts :(
