RIP EJ22 Brumby:(
RIP EJ22 Brumby:(
Hi guys,
Some of you might know my friend Greg and his white EJ22 Brumby. When on a few trips and the car was great. Unfortunately the car is gone to car heaven:(
It happened on the long weekend of the 28th i think. He went on a camping trip with a few mates down in Albany. Was driving in a convoy comfortably on a dirt/gravel road, went round a long corner, when the rear of the ute suddenly started to overtake. So he tried to take control but the tracks wasn't very wide and the front went into the side ditch and the car rolled nose first... Luckily we had done a great job with welding the Liberty seat and he was wearing his seat belt and came out with only a scratch..
Rip little brumby:(
Anyway its all for sale now and he wants to move on.
Would be prefect for someone wanting to convert a brumby as everything will just bolt in. Or use most of it for a L series conversion.

Wow, glad to hear he is ok, even though the little brumby did it's job and sacrificed itself to save him.
I wonder how would he have fared in the same rollover if he was in a Patrol?
I've seen the results of several of them after rollovers, and generally the roof ends up level with the tops of the doors.
Love the painted spare tyre on the rental trailer....that'd get defected right away around here.

Looks like the Brumby held up quite well with the roll, although I don't know how fast the roll was but to be going side ways just before it I would say it proves Brumby's are well built for safety.

Was looking for an alternative to rollcages, and found this:
http://safetyei.com/testing/
Not too much use on a brumby, but perhaps would work well on an Outback/Forry/L wagon?

Could maybe make a roof basket out of it. Double purpose:)

Don't wanna hijack the thread, but had the guys who run lifted subies with more powerful donks in mind.
They do have less stability than an unlifted car.
When I saw the poor little brumby and how well it stood up to the rollover, I got to thinking about rollbars, then how they can actually be a hazard inside the cabin, did a bit of google-fu and found this roofrack-on-steroids thingy.

Glad to hear Greg is OK.. that does look nasty
MQ with blown engine would want to be free, as it will cost a few bob to fix.
