hey, i was thinking, and it was hurting my head. haha. What if us ausubaru users here in WA get our own subbie 4wd club sort of thing going??
Just an idea, Let me know what you think, nothing official, just like a few meets here and there, 4wd days, camping etc, with out all of this bull S**t that you have to go through if you go with the actual club here in WA.
Let me know what you think??
Cheers Mike.

sounds alright to me, who would organise the events(one person?) or a couple.
could be good to have a couple of events each year that are official events or something(a set date on the calender each year?)
my 2 cents

yeh, a couple of people would organise, and yeh, that sounds good, couple of orgaised/set events. But i also mean like day trips to lancilen and other spots like that, white hills and things like that.
and i want everyones ideas.

so your 2 cents is muchly appreciated.
Cheers, Mike.

Requires registration as an incorporated body for limitation of liability, which means office bearers, a bank account, a constitution and public liability insurance.

Precisely what exists now.
If you have an idea for a trip, put it forward.

yeh, Thought that it might. eh, there goes that idea.
but yeh, i just wanna go for a 4wd witout all of this stop, wait, oh no, they got bogged bull crap. and where the instructors are a bunch of old women. Dont get me Wrong, the lano's trip last weekend was good, but it could have been sooo much better.
i mean, come on, "be in low range and first gear, otherwise you will get bogged (from the instructor) i was in high range and going through my gears, in second half the time to go up dunes, but i did not get out of third, the convoy was to slow, i ended up being the only one in the group to not get bogged and i still had in between half and three quarters of a tank when i got back to forrestfeild and i filled up my tank on sat night, i would hate to know how much the others had left.
just like do a lano's trip or something with the ausubaru site people.
Cheers Mike.

haha yeah i guess the current system already works pretty well but maybe clarkey is thinking they are too irregular or not enough?
for example perth-wrx have 1 or 2 cruises i think per year which are an annual thing, like a dedication to possum bourne cruise and one other thing i can't remember. that could be something to look forward to each year but in between who ever wants to go for a spin then post it up?
i dunno if it would work but just a thought

yeh, that is what i mean, like there is not many trips now, i just want to make something where we get a set date and destination, where we can all just have some fun off road and drink or what ever, not like the last one, where it was like they where doing it in a flippen front Wheel Drive car.
Red Rocket has the idea, he know what i mean by the sounds of it.
Cheers Mike

yer I know what u mean, was very active on here a couple of years ago (even had special WA Ausubaru stickers made) but has died off recently. Seems to be a healthy new wave forming now. but yeh, just post up your trip ideas on here and all the regulars will see it and come along. Can't wait to get 4x4 working in my wagon again then I'll be at as many trips as possible! (none of that weak stuff hehe.....while the training side of things has it's place....hardcord is where it's at!)

yeah there are about 4 or 5 new people including myself who are completing conversions, already have or just keeping it stock who have recently shown good interest.
Next year around march when most people should be complete with the above things we should def have a trip or even a mock sort of calender thing?
cant wait to see this monster wagon andrew it will be insane.
unfortuantely all the old regulars have just parted their cars out in the past year or so and we need to convince them otherwise e.g. Alex haha
and some more stickers would be tops:D

yeah me and 2 other mates with subis are keen for a day at lano, but would rather go with other more experienced drivers... if someone sets dates and we can all go then I'll come a long!

Sounds like if you guys sore the trips we used to do you would wet yourself.
The trips u want to do will come at a price though... we used to break a LOT of stuff. Almost every trip we had to tow someone home.
I got a few vids of some of the stuff we used to do... not sure if you guys have seen them of not.
I might be interested in some trips... although i don't have extra cash to fix my car like i used to so if i bust something i could be out of action for a while.
There is an awefull lot of red tape when it comes to making a "club". Just keep it meets and put the details on the site like Andrew has said.

Andrew... When is your car drivable... we should take these guys on an old school trip... follow us if you dare.
I can hear Jarrahdale calling us.... we might want to walk it first though... i do want my car to come back with me.

Dave that sounds good, would love for you guys that have done it all to show us some sweet spots and i have no doubt we would wet ourselves and lick our lips over some of the things you have done. Although not too keen on breaking things that often, haha but i guess that comes hand in hand.
march could def be a goer i think for a day trip or something alike. gives everyone a lot of time to get back from holidays, fix cars etc.

Yeah Dave I'm up for that for sure. She's drivable now but not 4x4 yet, maybe early next year!
Breakages are inevitable yes. Thankfully I've had hardly any myself (bit of underbody damage, busted a balljoint once, killed a CV, but nothing major). Pays to take it easy. One of my tricks is to watch somebody else go up something first before you do haha.

Yeah watching someone go first is always a good idea. My problem has been... when everyone stands back and say they wont do it i tend to give stuff a shot.
I recall a dark night in Jarrahdale when i had to sacrifice the Hatch to get out of an area that was blocked of my the council. I think i had some steering rack damage after that one.

i remember that dave......
i would be keen to passenger on such trips, as bringin the cruiser might offend some ppl.
i do miss the subi offroading, and i still have a couple of wa ausubaru stickers left over from when they where made
but like said, lots and lots of stuff was broken on those trips.
jarrahdale is now completely closed off and being caught in there is a nasty experience....
Harvey area is also now closed off and they patroll regularly
pipidinny and romeo road are now closed and have heavy fines as well...patrolled constantly with the new road through there.
unfortunatly in wa we are running out of good offroading locationes close to perth, and they are only closing more and more off
i have a few new spots the subarus havnt been before, if ppl would like to try, but it can get rather nasty and expensive if wrong lines are taken etc etc.
otherwise id be very interrested in goi out with the new generation of wa members

Pipidinny didn't look very closed when I was there a few hours ago. West of Marmion ave I drove straight into the dunes, without seeing any signs or fences. East of Marmion Ave I came to a Landcorp Private Property sign and didn't see any tracks of interest.
Romeo Rd is fenced on both sides of Marmion Ave (gate open though), with lots of no entry signs.
Dave how do your new tracks compare with the Powerlines for difficulty (and legality)?
Dane.

Man, if it wasn't so damn expensive to fix my outback (and it didn't have such a long low nose) I'd be out all the time.
If you want regular trips, then there is the WA Subaru Club, but it is a proper club with fees and meetings and procedures and all that. Back when I was a kid and we were members it seemed to be alot less formal - at least to me. I suppose there's alot more liability crap nowdays.
The club also tends towards more family friendly touring and all that, with less crazy bouncing around like these guys used to do haha.
