Lifted Impreza Hatch

Last night we finally finished installing my body lift, suspension lift and other goodies into my GX impreza hatch.
Overall im quite pleased with the combination of Subaru liberty "Outback" suspension (struts + springs are ~1'' longer than Impreza) the 2'' lift kit and the significantly larger tyres. It has increased the ride height of the vehicle more than i expected
Some teething problems to sort before taking it off road. Will need to sort out position of trailing arms and rear lateral links as well as some minor wheel well panel work to insure that the struts are not rubbing (insert rubber mallet)

.
Big thanks too Paul (RSR555)
again for use of his workshop / tools / brain / personal time in the pursuit of one of my silly projects!

your gonna need a decent hammer in the wheel arches to make room - but dont matter we have all done it
to fix your rear trailing arm problem, fit outback trailing arm
mounts. search the forum it has been covered to death. This will move your rear wheels back about 8mm. I cant see any reason why they wont bolt up to an impreza.
looks very cool mate. You are gonna have all sorts of fun in it.

The rear arms are easy to do & you make them adjustable each way so you dont have to cut the body at all , & fix the rear camber .
Pauls welcome to look at mine any time.

Seagull just rang & told me about this..........Damn you beat me to it, apart from changing the wheels recently I haven't touched this in 2 1/2 yrs but I'll get there one day, 95 WRX with 97 V3 STI rear cut & 00 front bumper & lights, just needs paint & reg then the lift.
Eat your heart out, genuine WRX Gravel wheel carrier.

Good work!!
I will join in 2-3 months, when my 2.0 GL will be finished.
I will keep the original impreza springs, everything else will be similar to yours.
3" lift, OB struts, OB rear control arm mounts, will go with 215/75 R15 Tires.
That would be enough height for me, the tires alone are adding more than 4cm. Will try to squeeze-in the 4,44 gears, if not, the 4,11 will be fine.
Will try to pull it out from a 4,44 Forester turbo g-box: TY755VN2AB.
Deliberately taking the new 8 bolt box (2001) since mine appears to be allready a 'revised' one: 1999: TY754XR1AA. Just for any case.
Guys, please correct me if I am wrong with trans. codes, that is as far as I came with my research...

Cool looks awesome! Can't wait to see it cutting it up offroad. Does it have the 1.5:1 low range awd 5spd gearbox?

Yes, very nice. I am surprised that there isn't more lifted Imprezas around. I think once people see a few of them they will become more popular.
d_generate, where did you get your wheel carrier from?

I believe he got the wheel carrier from seagull who got it from japan. It was a factory item on what was called the gravel express.

Thanks alot lads. Origninally this project started off with the intention of using a 91 GX liberty. But alas she had done ~340,000ks and was nearing the end of her usable life. So traded her in for $1k and bought the hatch for $4k. Dont really like using dealers but had to comprimise in this situation.
Will look into OB trailing mounts and I also better do a general service asap

Other plans include some frontal protection, lighting, radio etc.

Tom you pimp, give me your wheel carrier!!
