Perth’s got talent! Big thank you !

Post by BrennyV » Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:49 pm

Just like to put a big thanks out there to my fellow ausubaru Perth members who came and helped me yesterday diagnose the problems with my ej22. after a few hours with Dave and Dave :P we figured out that the timing cover that was cracked had sustained a harder knock than 1st thought.. We found that both cam wheels had skipped a few teeth, we then discovered that the Gregory’s and Haynes books are useless in regards from setting up timing belts from scratch! :/ big thank you to Hatchie Dave for the new belt! Much appreciated. We spent ages struggling with the alignment and eventually gave up.. (so I thought) Andrew decided that he would solve this asap and before I knew it Andrew and Justin ( OS ) rocked up and the car was running smooth in no time!! After a quick lesson on the how-to put a belt in from scratch and what lines / notches to go by! And techniques to install the belt tensioner..

I just thought id put up this post to say thanks for all the support from fellow board members who donate time and effort in any situation to help out fellow members without this kindness and thought I think a lot of people would struggle to find correct and useful information on many things and end up out of pocket or out of there minds! :P

Thanks
Brendan

Well I'm not giving you any sandwiches Alex. Maybe the Daves will, but I'm not cool with that at all.

Leone has had a few pretty good test runs tonight. Travelled about 20kms....odometer will have logged about 30kms tho due to wheel spin!
(hm actually zero cause the speedo cable isnt working)
She goes hard just like an EJ22 should.
