Unfortunately the REPCO boys are convinced it has cracks in both front engine mounts, which means no serious workout of any kind until that's sorted, which rules out wedge :(

THanks for the vote of confidence though Subarino... I really have no idea what it would handle. I was up in heavy dune action a few days ago with a mate in a raised 16" 03 forester and we were lucky we had a SWB pajero with us to pull us out. To be fair on the car, the driver should have known better in that instance, but that's still the 4th time in 2 trips that i've been on that he's buried it.

Now i look at that, then at mine with probably 1/3 or less of the power, and 175/75 13's.... doesn't really inspire me to go dune running.

But i also have no idea what the road to wedge is like :) Only one way to find out i guess... And I've never actually done sand driving... Only one way to get experience too...

Subarino I think at that point my stuts had about all they could take for the day...otherwise I would have done the jump too :)

For those who weren't there, within the first 60 seconds of us playing in the dunes at Wedge I managed to drive up a small crest and promptly fling my car off a little cliff. Front end hit the face of the dune HARD, rear end came down HARD. I thought the car would be a write off when I got out but low and behold it was fine. Radiator support bent a little, thermo fan squashed slightly, small coolant line split. Otherwise fine. Car drove flawless all the way home.
