powerline track

Post by hurracane » Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:47 pm

hey guys i've had my L series a week now and i already have the itch to do some 4wding, was thinking of heading to the power line track on Thursday the 18th march.

I have a mate who wants to come along in the car with me that has a bit of experience, i was just wondering if anyone has been up the track in a subi and how far they could get.

I only have stock suspension and was wondering if this would be ok to at least get some of the way in... any advice would be great and if anyone wants to tag along your welcome, prob gonna try and start the track around 11am.

Hey Dave.. Where have those days gone?

One bit of advice... don't go with only one car. You should never go 4wding without atleast 2 cars.

Yeah Dave good advice for the any of the new players :)

It's also good if both cars can have 2 way radios in case the experianced driver gets too far ahead

It's manageable in just about any Subaru. I'm up for a trip between 10 and 16 March, if you fancy going then.

I'd be up for it but I'd have to take the Canyonero (100 series) as the Offroad Subie is still "Off" the road at the moment :)

That's why you put the inexperienced up front  :p

Good track that one, I'd love to revisit it again someday. Still cut that the camera battery died a bit before we got there :(

Have fun!

Cheers

thanks for the info guys, i had a small go on an unnamed freo beach the other day and all went very good, i watched a few vid's on you tube and there was some fairly serious 4wd's pulling some serious angles. it good to be able to get some local knowledge before you go anywhere,

Dane, i would love to go earlier but i can't due to work commitments :( Thurs friday is my weekend

Dave, if i knew someone else with a 4wd i would get them to come for sure but i don't know anyone else with the brains to go let alone a 4wd.

Then I'll show you how to get those same angles and not roll

Count me out for Wedge - not a huge fan of sand.
