Nah different mate. Having seen a better unit I'm after one of those now  Typical!

I don't know when I'll get it done as it's freezing when working in the weather up here - and we're expecting 30-50cm of snow in the next couple of days! But we'll see what happens with that too!

Cheers

Damn! I was hoping that there would be loads of L's around as I'm now after 4 matching roof racks (used to be HEAPS around but as Murphy works...) - but I won't be home for another 3 or 4 weeks at the earliest, so I could be lucky I guess.

Sweet. What would you want for those? And if you're out at the wreckers and see a pair the same could you grab them for me too??

Basically I'm after a set of four to permanently live on something... But you'll have to wait for that detail later  Oh the suspense!

Jolly's u-pull it on Greens road in Dandenong has a really nice silver MY series touring wagon with aircon and powersteering!

It's only got 110,000 kms and judging by the condition of the distributor i took off it thats about right.

Could someone be so kind as to list all self serve wreckers around Melbourne with addresses for me? Don't need to have Subaru's at them either. I'm just wanting to do some dimension research...

Listed in the first post for easy reference:

Pick a Part Specials page + make and model search page
Jolly Roger's
Centre Rd Wreckers

Hopefully they'll have their addresses on the websites. Pick a part has a vehicle list by make and model in their what's in stock list. Not always 100% accurate but still good.

Interesting - maybe post this up in the engine/gearbox section of the forum for some more attention if anyone's looking for one. I'd bet it's an EJ20 though if it's in factory form.

I managed to drop into Centre road wreckers yesterday (friday):

Loads of libertys, a mix of gen1 and gen2's. One L series :( One token Vortex, 2wd NA. Interior complete but shabby, blue in colour.
One Impreza - gearbox missing.

That's about it.

It was great just to be there again and to have a walk around. I really need to make a list of what I want to check out when i'm there next time...

Cheers

If anyone goes near center road, can you please check the vortex radio and sunvisors?

How to remove vortex radio / headunit:

1 remove plastic plug in face of clock,
2 un-do screw and remove clock,
3 un-do 2 vertical, downward-screwing screws in top of radio cage (into tape deck)
4 insert 3 middle fingers into tape slot, thumb on top of tape deck casing and slide the ass'y out
5 un-plug tape deck connector, un-plug radio connector and retrive 2 (yes 2) long aerial cables from under the carpet and unplug them aswell
6 radio out:cool:
The trading corner : the stuff that I need ATM -
# Vortex Main Dash Surround / Bezel ANY COLOUR,
# Vortex Radio, # RHD Vortex 4speed auto digital dash,
# RH-Side parking (86+) Vortex wiper transmission,
# EA82 AWD 4EAT,
If you have them please PM me

From what I remember the radio was original and seemed to be in good condition. Sunvisors I couldn't tell you about.

It's got a moon roof thing too - I couldn't find the storage bag for it though.

If you happen to see a vortex, please look at the radio and take a quick photo if possible? Center road did have one, I emailed them and they broke it taking it out (surprise surprise!)
thanks in advance!
