Hi there everyone.

Thinking about heading out the Lerderderg forest on Sat 25th May.

Loose plans are possibly meeting at Bacchus Marsh at about 9am, then driving around the area for the day. I gotta be back in Melbs at 4pm, so an early start is the plan.

Lerderderg is here: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=-37. ... 1&t=m&z=11

Anyone interested?

Cheers

Update:

So i've been looking at a few tracks and have a basic trip penciled in.

Here it is so far:
Meet at Bachus Marsh
drive to and have a play in quarry on Seereys Trk: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=-37.5884 ... 7&t=h&z=16

drive south to north then turn East onto Holts Rd which leads us to Nuggetty Trk: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=-37. ... sz=17&z=17

Then drive north along Bluegum Trk. Turn right onto Rattcliffe Trk. This is an out and back track: https://maps.google.com/maps?q=-37.5271 ... 2&t=h&z=18

Once back on Bluegum Trk, head north to Big O'brians Link Trk, head west over to O'Brians Camp Ground for some lunch: https://maps.google.com/maps?saddr=-37. ... sz=15&z=15

Then, after lunch, pretty much drive the same way back in reverse.

I've looked at most of these tracks online on a few sites, and as long as it doesn't rain too much, it should all be Suby friendly!

Stay tuned!

Doug.

Hi there everyone.

Here's the deets for the trip this Saturday.

Meet: Balgee Oil Service Station. 15 Gisborne Road, Bacchus Marsh. This station should stock normal petrol, High Octane and Diesel.

Time: 8:30am leave, so arrive a bit early if you need to fill up or buy anything

What to bring: recovery gear, UHF radio (on channel 16), lunch, snacks, seat and anything else.

Where will we go: The plan is to leave Bacchus Marsh and head to the old quarry on Seereys Rd. Then head north onto Holts Rd, which leads to Nuggetty Trk. Then north onto Bluegum Trk. Then head East along Big Obrien's Link Trk, Obrien's Rd and arrive at Obrien's Camp ground and Picnic area. Have something to eat. Then north along XL Trk with river crossing, then onto Chettle Rd, Diggers Trk, Obrien's Rd, Bluegum Trk, back onto Nuggertty, then Holts, Seereys Rd and finish at Quarry.

Duration: Prob be out and about for at least 5 - 6hrs, depending on track closures and track conditions.

End Time: Leave Lerderderg at about 4pm.

Just as a side note: This trip is not associated with any club association, and is loosely organised through me. So make sure you have all your own private car insurance and road side assistance up to date.

I won't be there but I've done that first leg a couple of times now and it's a great trip. There seems to be a few changes in the nuggerty track at the bottom since I was there last but it was nothing to worry about.

Enjoy it, I'd love to be joining you but funds and time just don't allow for it at the moment :(

Cheers

Was super impressed by Kustomchris's stock outback. even with his stock low profile roadie tyres!!

Looking forward to getting out there when it's a little more slippery!!

Looked like a lot of fun! Way to use that bashplate on the Green forri there. I cringed a little!

Anyone try a slow climb on it?

Martin did hit it the hardest. The white forry did a slow climb, but the issues was that the surface was really loose, the sliding off to the far side, where there were rocks and trees ready to damage our cars, so hitting it with a bit of pace was needed, so we didn't slide off. The line that Martin took, was a little more extreme to the live we all took.

Looks like you all had a great drive out there, have to try & attend the next one. Ratcliffe track gets very rough past the bollards, did you guys go that far?
Anyway liked that YouTube vid.

Hey Jake. We turned onto Rattcliffe from Bluegum track and drove it all the way north to Firth Rd. I guess we probable drove past the bollards, but not sure where you mean. Nuggertty Trk was pretty good fun. We got onto it from Holts Trk, which is the south end, and drove it north. The start and end of Nuggerty was fun. Clay base, so it would have been really fun if it was a bit wet!

Yeah Nuggetty is always good fun. The bollards I'm talking about are at the end of the Ridge line where the track turns & heads north. You start going downhill from here & eventually hit the rocky crossing at the bottom. The track is actually called Firebreak no 1 from where it turns north, on some maps anyway.
As I said, maybe I'll catch you out there next time.

Cheers Jake

Yep, we did firetrail 1 and the rocky crossing at the bottom.. Heres a vid of my car cossing the "creek" (ignore the name of the file as i stuffed up when saving on my computer)
http://s911.photobucket.com/user/Kustom ... b.mp4.html

I was taking it slowly as we'd already had 1 car pull out and my spare tyre has a 19" rim until i get the original spare tyre changed.

Thanks for the kind words guys, i had a blast out there and im guessing the extra power in the engine made up for my lack of off road capability on most of those hills (go the mighty H6).

I have more pics coming but my computers been cracking the shites at me lately.. But for now heres a pic of wills outback, love this monster of a subi
