Mt Cole 1st - 3rd of June.

Post by Venom » Sat May 05, 2012 7:41 am

Hey guys, my next break starts in 3 weeks and i'm definitley hitting mt cole on the 1st of June. Same plan as before to set up camp for the weekend and tool around on whatever tracks are open. Haven't even seen my lib since it went into the panel shop on the 8th of May and i'm getting desperate to take it out for a work out in the hills. Feel free to join in for as much or little suits your schedule. I will be securing a hut with fire place early fri to keep warm! Let me know if you can make it. Unfortunately thats the only weekend i have in melb for the next 2 months.

I'm in - cash dependant!

If you're missing your car since the 8th of May (march maybe?? The 8th of may is currently in the future!); maybe you should hold off another 6 months and see how you go then!

Really looking forward to this one! - and that's an understatement!

Cheers

Exams?! Just plan your study around it :)

Bennie i'll chip in for your fuel if it gets you out there. Worth it if it means i'm not there on my own! So book it in.

I don't think it'll come to that but I'll appreciate the help if it's needed.

I'll catch you then! Thunder, it'd be great if you can make it too, but I understand the importance of exams, it's not worth risking your marks for a weekend 4wd trip, even if you're keen as mustard!

Cheers

Happy to make this a wallhala trip if it would be preferable to others. Just thinking of the awesome pub food there is enough to get me back. No huts to shelter in though.

I'm in for this one, even if I only come for the day... I was having a weekend away with the better half on this weekend thinking the trip might have beeen on Queen's Birthday weekend. Since the trip will be on these days, the better-half kindly agreed to move it, provided we make it a long weekend away, so all good!

See you guys then! Happy to go to Wallhala and stay overnight for some good pub meal!

Pedro.

Yep, I'd be keen to see Walhalla again. Just wish I'd have done my fan cutout switch by now though...

If it's walhalla I'll have to re-install my in-guard air intake, it's got to be better than not having it, makes the water have to travel a further distance before it gets to my filter.

Keep me posted!

Cheers

Main Mt Cole Road / Mount Coal Raglan Road goes straight to Ditchfields, but it was closed last time. I am assuming it still is.

I suggest coming in on the Elmhurst Beaufort Road, and hang a left off that at some point and make your way to Ditchfields. There are numerous ways to go.

We will miss the seasonal road closures which come into effect on about the 17th June (1 week after Queens B;day), which is great.

Yeah sweet.

I dunno what's going on with dad at this stage... or my other mate... but I'm 99% sure Benji is in for Saturday. And I might have a "guest" joining us Saturday night, but that's a surprise ;)

Also, have we been to ditchfields - was this the one we were at last time??

Cheers

Ditchfields was where we stayed the first night with the not-very-healthy quad bike bogans.
