Pub session??

Post by El_Freddo » Tue Apr 17, 2012 10:59 pm

G'day Vicco's

I've been thinking - why don't we get together at a decent pub somewhere that's pretty central to everyone for some drinks and a catch up?

I know we'd all love to be 4wd'n but it could be a good opportunity to catch up and share some ideas on future trips with the intention of planning the next trip while we're all there.

This idea has come about because A) I'm still rebuilding Ruby Scoo and B) lets face it, we have a pretty big chat before we even think about 4wd'n during our 4wd'n time!

So why not kill two birds with one stone and chat while planning our next outing?

Can anyone recommend a good pub in melbourne? or the outer suburbs?

Cheers

Bennie

Hi Guys
How about Bucken 8 cars from QLD will be there late Wednesday 16th May
I would love a chat and get together we will only be there overnight tho.
We start our trek down your way on 12th the main towns we will be going through are Omeo, Bucken, Dargo, Locola, Bright, Mt Hotham and Walhalla.
If you see us give a call out on UHF 10

Yeah Buchan could work, I'm not sure that there's much there to enjoy though. Or we could go to the infamous Dargo pub :D Then camp out somewhere on the Dargo River... Ah, Dargo...

I'm keen to also try out the Golden Age Hotel in Omeo - a mate used to work there... We'll get something sorted!

I'm keen to do the above and also have a session sooner - although I guess that the 16th really isn't that far away!

Cheers

The reason i said Bucken is that i know we should be there on that day we are driving the Deddick track before hand thats if all goes well.
I don't know when we will get to Dargo:(
We have a lot of country to cover before then:D
Don't worry about us just do your own thing if that doesn't suit:cool:
If we see you guys that's good if we don't that's out bad luck

I was thinking about this tonight while on the boring hume...

There's a pub on Mt Macedon that I used to call my local watering hole, until it changed hands one too many times and it was closed due to dodgy operations in terms of the liquor licensing.

Now it's in the hands of my mum's friend's partner (familiar story - friend of a friend of mine?) - it's had a major make over and will *hopefully* be re-opening after about 5 or 6 years on the Queens Birthday Long weekend.

I was thinking we could all attend this evening, meet at my pero's joint before hand, car pool up, have a good time then camp in the back hill (for those that want to stay) or something of the like.

Thoughts?

Cheers

*sigh* I wont have the brumby operational by then, but if there is a pub meet in Melbourne sometime I'd be keen for that too :)
