Future trip: Mt Cole

Hey guys,
Well i can't stop thinking about how awesome Mt Cole is and i want to go back.
So i am tentatively planning out a 2 night/2 day trip covering a Fri/Sat/Sun. Option of course for people with a free friday to arrive earlyish and have extra more lots fun
 One camp for the weekend so we can leave gear out of the cars for the 4WDing. Camp sites at Mt Cole have bush cabins and fireplaces.
General plan is to explore, push the vehicle's limits and have fun. Certainly some challenging tracks to be had in the area. The park has all the tracks with a combination of sticky clay-mud, gravel, water crossings and rocky tracks with rock steps and boulders. Rain will be a big determining factor on the difficulty.
No date from, just interested in when others are available and sort it out from there.

Definitely want to be in on this one, but will need to see what date it turns out to be.

I'll throw some dates out there to get the ball rolling.
17/18/19 March, 24/25/26 March, or 1/2/3 April
Easter?

I'm happy to work around others as I've got no idea what I'm doing after the labour day weekend.
Looking forward to getting out there again though! We'll definitely need Subaruby along this time - we need the three back together - it's been too long!
Cheers

That was me, i've finished up at ub though. Academic calender is on the net. Uni was one big holiday anyway minus exams

Geology mate. Hope your last year goes well!
I've got a job offer starting in 2/3 weeks so i probably can't make it 24-26th. Unless we can squeeze it in before mid March then it will probably have to wait untill mid-April for me.

Anytime before Easter would be great. I'll be keen for the friday, perhaps the whole weekend depending on finances.

Any of them Bennie, just will be elsewhere for easter is all and as I'm working weekends still it's just friday for me... unless I get enough weekday work to take a weekend off...

I'll be in Mt Isa on the 19th or 20th which rules me out of the 17/18th and the 24th/25th.
Currently thinking about doing a weekday trip following on from Barry's highcountry trip on Offroadsubarus. Thinking of just sticking to the highcountry and hitting some of the "interesting" tracks in the region. Thats about all i'll be able to manage before i head off to work. So thats highcountry from 13th untill.. well whenever we've had enough
What i am thinking though is i will plan a Mt Cole trip for late April weekend of the 28th/29th when i get my first break.
Highcountry following on from Barry's trip from 13th-15th or so.

Mt Cole was calling me big time while I was walking in the Gramps for the week. I found it tough. I probably could have walked there as I clocked up 96km in 4 and a half days walking the same track with a different group of students for the week. Good times!
Now to get Ruby Scoo sorted so I can actually have some real fun with her here
Cheers

Well unless I get a miracle it's starting to look shaky for the weekend after Easter
Excuses:
"Dirka" - the new L series in the family took up a good chunk of time in the last three weeks as we needed him on the road ASAP for my sister who basically landed from Canada and has gone straight to uni.
Work has got in the way - it's kind of bitter sweet. But with 8 days and 6 nights out bush that's a fair chunk of after school hours gone as well.
Now it's picking season, we've got a day/half day lined up for Saturday coming, I'm expecting it to be full on for the two weeks of the school holidays - which is also very convenient for the work front while teaching is out the window.
So we'll see what happens! But I'm going to do it as soon as I possibly can!
I'm super keen to be back out there again in Ruby Scoo! It's not the same without her
Cheers
