Trips for second half of 2011?
Trips for second half of 2011?
Hey guys,
So Cobaw was lots of fun, anyone have any ideas for more trip ideas for this year?
Good to get the ball rolling early so we can pencil it into peoples calenders, organise the weekend off etc.
I've spent some time in Mount Cole state park and i think there's definitely enough to do there for an over nighter/long weekend. Mount Cole has a very gnarly powerline track with big granite boulders, could be a lot of fun. It also has some great camp sites.
North of Mount Cole about 30mins away is the Pyrenees State Forest which is well documented as a 4WDing destination.
My calender is flexible so whatever dates others have free works for me.

ooh... those places sound good!
I've only been to the Mt cole area once
I'm looking forward to some dates to see what fits I'll probably be off mount early October at the latest...
I'd like to sneak in a Robe trip again a bit before christmas Give the new rear springs and the scorpions a run in the sand
Cheers

I am so up for some Victorian offroading! Need a bit of a road trip too. And if I'm lucky I can convince the girl to come along, pick her up on the way!

That'd be awesome Phiz, it'd be great to catch up again too!Phizinza wrote:I am so up for some Victorian offroading! Need a bit of a road trip too. And if I'm lucky I can convince the girl to come along, pick her up on the way!
I'm a little concerned about the lack of activity/input from other vic members - are we a dieing (schpelling - should it be dying?) breed??
Cheers

Yeah, it's dying. I've noticed a decline in activity on most of the forum I'm on. I think it's a seasonal thing as I've noticed it before.

I'm not too concerned Bennie, it usually takes a while to get responses and organise a trip. We're still missing most of the usual suspects so I imagine we'll get atleast 2 or 3 more people.El_Freddo wrote:That'd be awesome Phiz, it'd be great to catch up again too!

On another note i was in Walhalla for the weekend and I had a look at some maps in the Wally pub. There's a heap of tracks East of the Thompson with derelict gold towns and mining equipment to check out. Plus of course the classic thompson rivers crossing
So i was thinking of a possible trip with a Fri night camp in Walhalla (meals at Wally pub are unreal and cheap), Sat camp in the bush and return Sun evening with lots of driving in between.
Cheers,
Rhys

Yeah I just thought that the usual suspects would all be on board by now... But then again I also guess that I've become impatient too!
Cheers

Always keen for trip and smart idea venom to post up early. In the middle of changing to a new store locationn at the moment and don't know what my weekends off will be yet.
Also don't forget the desert trip later in the year that I am still working on.

I will make a thread for a Walhalla/Thompson river area trip in the next couple of days. I don't want to impinge on the desert trip though, but i'll just post it up and it can be work out as we go along.
