Next trip - Queens Birthday weekend?
I am still keen to camp Saturday night and test out my new swag. Not sure where this stage, suggestions appreciated.
Bennie do you mind leading the trip on Sunday? For a day trip i'd prefer to minimise standing me standing around pointing at maps and just follow someone who knows where to go I was thinking 4WD park in the morning, lunch in Benders and then an afternoon session at whatever location takes our fancy.

I am currently stuck in low range. I might make an appearance on Sunday, it will depend on how much I fancy cruising at 70kmph to get there...

Ok.
So after having a mate do some reccies for me around bendigo the word is that it is very washed out and there are impassable tracks even for big 4wd's.
I've just got off the phone to Venom and we've decided that Cobaw it is - I've recently been there with Bcoutback last easter. While there were tracks that were difficult/impassable there were also some great tracks that tested both the lifted L series and the stock outback.
Meet point is -37.266983,144.640138 (google maps) at 9am Sunday. Pack a lunch or we can head into Lancefield for lunch at the bakery. No farmer's market this time I promise!
Hope to see you there - dobo and Matellica, I'm looking at you on this comment
Looking forward to it!
Cheers

I confirm my attendance on Sunday at 9.00am.
I would like to have camped somewhere Sat night but won't be able to this time. Still need to do a couple of this to subaruby yet.
Can't wait though been too long since hitting the tracks.

You realise the risk you run with this? If so its your own risk - I take no part!dobo wrote:Looks like I'll only be on an unregistered permit though, cant get in for a roadworthy in time.
I'm still looking forward to meeting up with you though.
On a side note: I'm not allowed to break ruby scoo - she's got to get us back to Hotham sunday night!
Cheers

Well dang, sounds like everyone else is coming so I better too! But if anyone laughs at me doing 70kmph on the freeway or makes hi-range jokes I'll punch them in the face
See you 9am Sunday

Oh, and for the face punches - you've got to catch us first
And bigger wheels should sort out your low range gearing
Cheers

If you get pulled over you can try and talk your way out of it by saying you are 'testing'. Read the fine print of permit and I'm pretty sure you are only allowed to drive the car to a licensed repair service or in the process of testing repairs... or something like that - read the fine print.dobo wrote:well, we'll see how my nerves go with it, to be honest iv done 300 odd Kms so far and haven't attracted the slightest attention.

I got done and it was a $512 fine (didn't read the fine print carefully enough).
Hey Pezimm are you coming?!
Cheers,
Owen.

yeah i was thinking i could argue that, It would just depend on the cop, as it would be quite obvious i was abusing the "testing" part, especially if it was covered in mud
