I am still keen to camp Saturday night and test out my new swag. Not sure where this stage, suggestions appreciated.

Bennie do you mind leading the trip on Sunday? For a day trip i'd prefer to minimise standing me standing around pointing at maps and just follow someone who knows where to go ;) I was thinking 4WD park in the morning, lunch in Benders and then an afternoon session at whatever location takes our fancy.

Can do. The 4wd park should be easy to arrange. After that it could be interesting for tracks... Might have to hit up Benji (Rangie mate) and ask him to come along.

Looks like I'll be on the 23 inch rims - its going to be too difficult to organise and transport the 27 inch scorpions :(

Cheers

I am currently stuck in low range. I might make an appearance on Sunday, it will depend on how much I fancy cruising at 70kmph to get there...

I think someone should be building up a second gearbox on the side so its just a gearbox swap each time something goes wrong :p

What time are we all looking at meeting up? And where, out at Epsom?

-36.68525,144.3487

Plug this into google maps. This is the 4wd park Venom is talking about.

And -36.690833,144.349687 is about where this happened last year a week out from my wedding:

Ok.

So after having a mate do some reccies for me around bendigo the word is that it is very washed out and there are impassable tracks even for big 4wd's.

I've just got off the phone to Venom and we've decided that Cobaw it is - I've recently been there with Bcoutback last easter. While there were tracks that were difficult/impassable there were also some great tracks that tested both the lifted L series and the stock outback.

Meet point is -37.266983,144.640138 (google maps) at 9am Sunday. Pack a lunch or we can head into Lancefield for lunch at the bakery. No farmer's market this time I promise!

Hope to see you there - dobo and Matellica, I'm looking at you on this comment ;)

Looking forward to it!

Cheers

I confirm my attendance on Sunday at 9.00am.

I would like to have camped somewhere Sat night but won't be able to this time. Still need to do a couple of this to subaruby yet.

Can't wait though been too long since hitting the tracks.

You realise the risk you run with this? If so its your own risk - I take no part!

I'm still looking forward to meeting up with you though.

On a side note: I'm not allowed to break ruby scoo - she's got to get us back to Hotham sunday night!

Cheers

Well dang, sounds like everyone else is coming so I better too! But if anyone laughs at me doing 70kmph on the freeway or makes hi-range jokes I'll punch them in the face

See you 9am Sunday :)

Oh, and for the face punches - you've got to catch us first

And bigger wheels should sort out your low range gearing

If you get pulled over you can try and talk your way out of it by saying you are 'testing'. Read the fine print of permit and I'm pretty sure you are only allowed to drive the car to a licensed repair service or in the process of testing repairs... or something like that - read the fine print.

I got done and it was a $512 fine (didn't read the fine print carefully enough).

Hey Pezimm are you coming?!

Cheers,
Owen.

"in the course of repairs, modifications or testing for the purpose of obtaining a Vehicle Assessment Signatory Scheme
Approval Certificate."

yeah i was thinking i could argue that, It would just depend on the cop, as it would be quite obvious i was abusing the "testing" part, especially if it was covered in mud :p
