Meet Point Torquay beach car park. Turn left at the first set of traffic lights as you come into Torquay, head straight down the road and you will see a gravel car park.

Time 9.00am

Date Saturday 22nd May

Hoping to organise a trip on the weekend of May 8-9th, or 22nd - 23rd to include paddys swamp - otways - airle beach.

My trip styles are pretty relaxed, ie meet up see what people are up for, look at the map pick a track and see where we end up.

Idea would be to camp at airle beach and maybe catch some fish for tea, although I am no fisherman!

All levels will be catered for, but for those that don't know airle beach has a small section of sand driving which is heaps of fun.

Sounds good. Also sounds like someone's itching! :P

Either dates should be good for me at the moment! Got some sand driving in there? Could be a good setup for the robe/beachport trip ;)

Let me know dates etc and I'll lock it in...

Cheers

Just a reminder this trip is only a couple of weeks away.

Anyone interested in doing some fishing when we get to the beach?

I'm keen to come for an overnighter!

Need to confirm about 1 week out, though.

Will be unlifted, road tyres and no sump guard (I'll have to take the plastic one out if we're going on sand!)

Might practice it this weekend so I can get it on and off as we go on and off the sand (or off and on?! Im confused...)

Cheers,
Pedro.

Sweeet. I'm on track, hopefully have Libby at the testers end of this week.

Venom, hows the kit going?!?!

Just checking our campsite for the night is Aire River? Airlie beach is in qld....

You can cast a line over the bridge at night and have fairly good luck if its quiet around the place.

Looks like the tracks I did on my last trip there should still be open, we can go play in the sand pit :D

Awesome - look forward to seeing you out there! Apparently road tires go alright on the sand because the more open tread can dig into the sand whereas the road tires can sit on top... just what i've heard though!

I'm on track, hopefully I'll have Libby at the testers end of this week.

Dunno about the beach fishing, but you can cast a line over the bridge at night and have fairly good luck if its quiet around the place.

I did a quick check on the parks vic website, looks like the tracks I did on my last trip there should still be open, which means a bit of good mud, a bog hole that i wouldn't dare venture into, and we can go play in the sand pit :D

So who's coming?!

I'm in!

Can't wait!! I'm keen to see this sandpit area, I'm sure a mate of mine has posted pics of this area on fb, but they've not told where it is :(

Pedro, don't worry too much about the bash plate, I'm running without one - need to knock one up at some point!

Cheers

I'm in!

Can't wait... Owen, I'm keen to see this sand pit area. A mate from down that way has pics of an open sandy area but they're not telling where it is (probabily because they can't be bothered!).

I'll make sure I pack a sleeping bag this time!
